Job summary

Advocate Health's Emergency Department role for a Paramedic focuses on delivering high-quality, compliant patient care within a multidisciplinary team. You will work under the supervision of a Provider, with Medical Director oversight of clinical practice.

The position requires NC Paramedic Certification, CPI training within 30 days, and BLS at hire, with ACLS/PALS within six months, and EMS agency affiliation to maintain certification.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Paramedic Training Program (OEMS approved).
• CPI course completed within 30 days of hire.
• Current North Carolina Paramedic Certification required (National Registry preferred).
• BLS certification required on hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• Affiliation with an EMS agency to maintain National Registry Paramedic certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care in accordance with policies and state regulations as approved by the Medical Director.
• Administers medications safely according to policy, under Provider supervision.
• Collects and communicates data, reads monitors, and responds with correct intervention to ensure optimum patient care.
• Provides evaluation of patients and communicates needs to the care team per guidelines.
• Executes skills as approved by NC-OEMS and the Medical Director.
• Transports patients between designated areas.
• Performs and maintains competency for Point-of-Care testing as assigned, compliant with policies.
