Mercy Health is seeking a Paramedic at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital to provide direct patient care under the guidance of an RN or designated healthcare professional.

The role covers a range of unit-based duties, including IV insertion, wound care, and patient transport, in compliance with state and market guidelines. Required are a high school diploma and a completed Paramedic program (certificate or associate degree).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Successful completion of a Paramedic program at certificate or associate degree level is required.
• Current paramedic-level certification is required.
• BLS/ACLS and PALS certifications preferred; ACLS/PALS due within 6 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care under RN guidance in accordance with regulations and hospital policies.
• Perform ED Tech Advanced tasks including IV insertion, catheter placements, and monitor transport under supervision.
• Complete patient rounds and discharge instructions as assigned.
• Administer medications safely per scope of practice and hospital policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in handoff reports.
• Provide 1:1 patient safety companionship when needed.
• Report changes and concerns to the RN and care team.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and under pressure while maintaining safety.
