Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown seeks a Paramedic at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital to provide direct patient care under the guidance of an RN, in line with state and local regulations and hospital policies.

Responsibilities include ED Tech duties, IV care, patient rounding, medication administration, accurate documentation and handoff reporting; requires current Paramedic certification and 1 year of experience; BLS/ACLS/PALS preferred, to be obtained within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Successful completion of a Paramedic program at certificate or associate degree level (required).
• BLS/ACLS/PALS preferred; ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN guidance and hospital policies.
• Perform ED Tech advanced duties, including IV care and monitoring.
• Complete patient rounding and discharge instructions as assigned.
• Administer medications safely per state scope and hospital policies.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and participate in handoffs.
