Job summary

Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital seeks a Paramedic to provide direct patient care under RN guidance, in accordance with regulations and hospital policies.

The role includes ED tech duties, IV care, ECGs, wound care and patient transport while maintaining accurate documentation. Required education includes a high school diploma or GED and completion of a paramedic program; current paramedic certification is required with BLS/ACLS/PALS where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a Paramedic program (certificate or associate degree) required.
• Current paramedic-level certification and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications preferred/required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN or physician guidance per regulations and policies.
• Perform ED Tech Advanced duties including IVs, colostomy care, ECGs and wound care.
• Complete patient rounding, discharge instructions and 1:1 safety coverage as needed.
• Document care accurately and communicate changes to the care team.
