Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking an ED Paramedic to join the hospital’s Emergency Department care team. You will work under physician supervision, provide advanced life support, administer medications, and perform patient evaluations based on field skills.

The role emphasizes teamwork with nursing to deliver high-quality patient care. Requirements include Texas EMT-P certification, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and NRP within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduated from an accredited paramedic program or successfully passed paramedic exam post-military service.
• One year of Paramedic experience in a 9-1-1 or hospital setting required; 3 years preferred.
• Current EMT-P in Texas; BLS, ACLS and PALS Certifications; NRP within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate patient monitoring equipment and record rhythm strips under physician supervision.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens as ordered.
• Assist in patient care, document vital signs, and maintain clear communications with patients and staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and manage supplies and equipment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in procedures as delegated by the physician.
• Transport patients to radiology and nursing units using appropriate equipment.
• Adhere to hospital policies and defined competencies; perform other duties as assigned.
