Job summary

DCH Health System in Northport, AL seeks a Team Leader for the Emergency Department to supervise nursing care and coordinate patient flow. You will provide leadership during crises, assign shifts, monitor quality of care, and mentor staff while working under the unit manager.

You will lead in-services, participate in performance improvement, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Weekend and holiday coverage is required based on unit needs.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current Alabama or Multistate License.
• BSN preferred, minimum Associates required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training required.
• Minimum 2 years’ RN experience.
• Specialty nursing experience may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates unit activities and provides leadership for unit staffing and patient assignments.
• Supervises nursing care for assigned patients and evaluates care outcomes.
• Evaluates care for each RN assigned patient on admission and ongoing.
• Promotes efficient patient flow with timely discharges and admissions.
• Maintains a safe environment by adhering to protocols and procedures.
• Acts as clinical resource and subject matter expert for staff.
• Provides timely feedback with accountability as needed.
• Implements evidence-based practices.
• Leads unit daily huddles and participates in house-wide huddles.
