Job description

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT NURSE MANAGER

(MidAtlantic State – Ohio)

Are you an aspiring leader with experience as an ER Charge, ANM, or Emergency Manager seeking a great opportunity to advance and fortify your leadership skills and build your career?

We have a unique opportunity as an Emergency Department Clinical Nurse Manager to oversee a rural community emergency department within a full-service hospital. The ED has 14 beds and sees about 17,000 annual visits per year servicing geriatric, adult, and pediatric patient populations.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, highly visible, and present leader to the team in the unit. As you know, ER nurses and staff want to see someone who can walk in their shoes and have the clinical street credibility to work in the ER.

  • A DO-ER that can get things done and get their hands dirty jumping in when needed.
  • Someone that earns their respect by being fair, firm, accountable, approachable, and has good leadership skills to provide appropriate recognition and appreciation, as well as being able to have crucial conversations with dignity and respect if needed.
  • A leader with good ER operations knowledge and expertise.
  • A collaborative peer to inpatient colleagues and providers that demonstrates teamwork.
  • A leader that comes forward to escalate issues and present three solutions with their recommendation for the best option to their leader rather than complain and expect their leader to solve, as well as teach that to staff to do the same to help all grow to the top of their license as problem solvers. And someone that seeks input from others for the best solutions to contribute to the best resolution.
  • Able to stay current on best practices for best patient outcomes, satisfaction, meeting key metrics, and staff engagement.
  • Someone that can take feedback, be okay taking appropriate risks and making mistakes, and learning from them.
  • A continuous learner clinically and professionally.
  • A good mentor/coach to develop staff and leaders under them.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
  • Model of a culture of high reliability and standards of behavior that reflect mission/vision/values.
  • MUST HAVES: BSN, appropriate local state license upon hire, 3-5 years clinical experience in emergency department as RN. TNCC, BLS, ACLS, PALS.
  • CEN preferred.

Per the job description, you will be responsible for PEOPLE, QUALITY, SERVICE, GROWTH, and FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY as the leader of the department.

Offering excellent salary and benefits, supportive culture with a dynamic administrative team, peers, and physicians and staff.
