Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Completion of an ACGME-approved Emergency Medicine residency.
• ABEM/AOBEM board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligible for Massachusetts medical licensure and clinical privileges in Emergency Medicine.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in ED operations, administration, quality, or performance improvement.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily clinical and operational performance of the Emergency Department.
• Design and implement process-improvement strategies to optimize patient flow and efficiency.
• Monitor and improve key ED performance metrics, including door-to-clinician time and LWBS rates.
• Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, protocols, and workflows.
• Oversee orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training of clinicians.
• Partner with leaders to staff physicians and APPs to meet needs.
• Advance quality, patient safety, and patient experience initiatives.
• Collaborate on disaster preparedness and emergency management planning.
• Participate in leadership on-call schedules and provide oversight.
• Support system-wide clinical and operational initiatives across BMCHS.
