Job summary

Clifton Fine Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Emergency Department. The role supports RN/LPN staff, handles patient intake, specimen collection after competency training, and ED documentation. Shifts include 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM with weekends and some holidays.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, a recognized MA program, and BLS within three months. CNA experience and ED exposure are advantageous.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current BLS certification required within three months of hire.
• Previous CNA experience preferred; Emergency Department experience is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN.
• Transport patients throughout the facility.
• Collect and maintain accurate patient information.
• Respond to patient calls for assistance and communicate needs to nursing staff.
• Conduct and document patient intake in the ED.
• Register patients for ED and other outpatient services.
• Scan and upload paper documents into the patient medical record.
• Obtain specimens for testing after competency program completion.
• Perform Point-of-Care testing as appropriate.
• Perform other duties to support ED operations.
