Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System in Elizabethtown, NC seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department under the supervision of an RN. This role emphasizes rapid assessment, medication administration, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate is a high school graduate with an active NC LPN license (or compact state) and strong communication and patient care skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current licensure in North Carolina as an LPN or Compact state licensure.
• Active and valid nursing license is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with knowledge of age-specific needs.

Responsibilities

• Participates in assessment of patient.
• Collaborates with departmental and interdisciplinary groups in developing the patient plan of care.
• Follows patient’s plan of care while providing direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Administers medications as ordered by physician.
• Maintains accurate and relevant patient records.
• Maintains a safe environment and responds to life-threatening situations as directed.
