Job summary

Care New England’s Emergency Department is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the ED healthcare team. Under RN supervision, you will provide routine nursing care, monitor vitals, and assist with care coordination, while supervising nursing assistants.

You will help ensure high-quality patient experiences within scope of practice. The role emphasizes patient observation, adherence to policies, and collaboration with the care team to support timely diagnostics and treatment.

Qualifications

• Vocational/technical training in Nursing.
• A minimum of one year’s job-related experience.
• RI State Licensure is also required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with ongoing observation of assigned patients and reports findings to the healthcare team.
• Provides nursing care per established policies, procedures and safety precautions.
• Monitors vital signs and administers medications as directed.
• Documents patient information in the medical record.
• Assists providers and patients during examinations and procedures as needed.
• Responds to emergencies per established practices.
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment for patients in the ED.
