Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking an LPN to provide direct nursing care in the Emergency Department at Bladen Hospital in Elizabethtown, NC. The nurse will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver patient care and ensure quality outcomes.

Relocation assistance is available. Requires NC LPN license or Compact state licensure and high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of age-specific needs and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Participates in assessment of patient
• Collaborates with departmental and interdisciplinary groups in developing the patient plan of care
• Follows patient’s plan of care while participating in the direct nursing care to assigned patients
• Adjusts care based upon age-specific physiological needs of patients as directed by the Registered Nurse or other authorized person(s)
• Maintains an accurate and relevant record of patient care
• Administers medication as ordered by physician
• Facilitates a safe environment
• Recognizes life-threatening situations and responds appropriately
• Maintains required competencies
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities and monitors the quality of care
• Establishes collaborative interpersonal relationships with other Health System staff
• Supports patients in the practice of their cultural and spiritual beliefs within limits of the medical regimen
• Actively participates in cost containment and completes accurate charging for patient services
• Actively demonstrates responsibility concerning customer satisfaction, patient throughput and hospital functional capacity through compliance with the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP), if applicable
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education And Formal Training

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Current licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Compact state licensure
