Job summary

Orlando Health in Clermont, FL is seeking a Professional Development Practitioner (Learning Specialist) for the Emergency Department at South Lake Hospital. The role plans, develops, implements, and evaluates staff education to enhance clinical practice.

Requires BSN, Florida RN license, and 3 years of ED RN experience; will pursue ANPD-aligned curricula and uses evidence-based teaching methods to support ongoing professional development across the department.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in Florida.
• National specialty certification must be obtained within two years of hire if available.
• Basic life support, advanced life support, pediatric ACLS, and NRP certifications as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing needs assessments and formulate educational plans.
• Develop and coordinate orientation and Education Action Plans for assigned areas.
• Actively participate in quality and safety initiatives.
• Implement educational programs to enhance nursing staff competence using innovative teaching methods.
• Develop evidence-based curricula compliant with ANPD standards and promote professional development.
