Job summary

Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse Flow Coordinator for the Emergency Department. This full-time role (72 hours per pay period, varied shifts) supports patient flow, collaborates with the charge nurse, and helps allocate staff to maintain safe, efficient care.

You will liaison with ED physicians, nurses, and hospital staff, coordinate admissions and transfers, monitor room availability, and ensure timely orders and tests

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years clinical nursing experience, with at least one year in emergency services.
• Currently licensed as a Tennessee RN (RN license required).
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS; NIHSS; ESI 5-Level Triage.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison to ED medical staff and shift leaders to coordinate patient care.
• Direct the ED patient care team regarding prioritization and patient flow.
• Monitor ED room availability and turnover to optimize throughput.
• Coordinate admissions and transfers with House Supervisor as needed.
• Ensure orders, specimens, and treatments are executed efficiently.
