Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center is seeking a Coder Technical Charging professional in the Medical Record Management department. This full-time role covers 40 hours/week on 1st shift and requires a high school diploma, CPC within 1 year of hire, and graduation from an accredited LPN program.

• Graduate of accredited LPN program.

Responsibilities

• Assign charge codes and facility charge category assignment for ED visits timely.
• Contact ED nursing staff to obtain required documentation via personal contact, email, or phone.
• Refer charts to ED Director if questions arise about procedures, codes, or modifiers.
• Develop and maintain metrics to monitor accuracy of charge code assignment and revenue capture.
• Ensure ED CPT codes and facility charges align with documentation and guidelines.
• Ensure CPT charge master codes are assigned per guidelines for optimal reimbursement.
• Enter charges for facility into the electronic system, with timely productivity.
• Review ED CCI and MN edits and determine action within next business day.
