Job summary

Memorial Hospital - Chattanooga is seeking a Clinical Educator RN to lead nursing education across clinical settings, delivering cutting-edge knowledge and best practice implementation to improve patient outcomes.

You will design, implement, and evaluate educational programs, mentor frontline nurses, and drive ongoing clinical excellence through collaboration with nursing leadership and Shared Governance Councils.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Three years of experience developing curriculum incorporating simulation, case studies, lectures, etc.
• Experience trending data and writing/action plans.
• Experience selecting equipment and supplies for orientation/education of RNs.
• RN license TN; BLS; ACLS within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge and skills in nursing interventions per standards of practice.
• Ensure new hires receive appropriate orientation.
• Provide tools for ongoing credentialing and education requirements.
• Promote clinical, ongoing educational opportunities for staff.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to improve standards of nursing practice.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinical Educator RN, you will be a pivotal leader, empowering our nursing teams with cutting-edge knowledge and skills to deliver exceptional patient care across various clinical settings.

• Maintains knowledge and skills in performance of nursing interventions consistent with standards of practice, as outlined in the RN Job Description (as applicable), including: patient assessment and development of improvements list, understanding of procedures for safe medication administration, proper use of equipment, patient care interventions to include age-specific needs, and appropriate documentation.
• Ensures that new hires (RN, LPN, NT, PCT, Surgical Technologist and Surgical Assistants) receive appropriate orientation at the onset of employment.
• Provides tools for RNs, LPNs, NTs, PCTs, Surgical Assistants and Technologists to complete yearly credentialing and other educational requirements.
• Promotes clinical, ongoing educational opportunities for staff, including Professional Career Ladder involvement (RN, LPN, NT, PCT, Surgical Technologists, and Surgical Assistants), preceptor enhancement, mentoring programs, RN Residency/Fellowship (as applicable), advanced degrees and board certification.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership and staff to develop strategies to improve standards of nursing practice and nursing care throughout the organization and participates in Shared Governance Councils (as applicable).
• Maintains objectivity when opportunities arise for improvements in patient care, developing strategies for problem resolution.

• Three years of experience in trending data and writing and implementing action plans., upon hire and
• Experience in selection of equipment and supplies to be used in the orientation, onboarding, and education of RNs, upon hire and
• Experience in evaluating nursing competency.Use of general patient care and communication equipment., upon hire and
• Registered Nurse: TN, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months and
