Job summary

The Emergency Department Technician II at MUSC Health reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will perform multi-skilled activities to support patient-centered care and assist with assessment, planning, and delivery of nursing care.

You will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safety, privacy, and professional behavior, participate in shared governance, and help maintain a healing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year in a .6 FTE ED Technician I position at MUSC or CNA/EMT/CMA/Paramedic, or equivalent hospital experience.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN under direct supervision to provide age/developmentally appropriate patient care.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) for patient care.
• Lead and coordinate care with team members to ensure safe, private, and professional care.
