Job summary

El Camino Health is seeking a dedicated Paramedic/EMT to join the Emergency Department team on an 8-hour evening shift. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision and help support patients and families in the ED waiting area.

The role requires National Registry Paramedic or EMT certification, good communication in English, and the ability to stay poised in fast-paced environments. This is an on-site position offering the opportunity to contribute to high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, guests, and co-workers in English both verbally and in writing.
• Exceptional people skills and an ability to function in a calm manner in stressful situations.
• Has the ability to adapt, prioritize, and function in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.
• Oversee the patients and families in ED waiting area; provide assistance to patients upon arrival.
• Assist the triage RN in identifying medical necessity, supporting and providing information to patients, families and staff.
