El Camino Health in Mountain View seeks an experienced ED support professional to provide direct patient care under RN supervision and assist with triage workflows in a busy Emergency Department.

You'll rotate to oversee waiting area, assist arrivals, and communicate clearly with patients and families while contributing to high-quality, compassionate care across all shifts.

Job Description

As part of the unit based team, this position is responsible for providing direct and indirect care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities

• In addition to providing clinical care for patients, this position also rotates to oversee the patients and families in ED waiting area;
• Providing assistance to patients upon arrival;
• Assisting the triage RN in identifying medical necessity;
• Supporting and providing information to patients, families and staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, guests, and co-workers in English both verbally and in writing.
• Exceptional people skills and an ability to function in a calm manner in stressful situations.
• Has the ability to adapt, prioritize, and function in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.

License / Certification / Registration Requirements

• National Registered Paramedic - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, OR
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians OR proof of current completion of 2 semesters in an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
• Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association.

This position is responsible for the care of neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Salary Range

$38.49 - $48.66 USD Hour

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Medium Work - Requires standing the majority of the shift with the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. frequently. Work involves sitting, kneeling, climbing and squatting. -(Physical Requirements-United States of America)
