Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, CO is seeking a full-time unit clerk/healthcare support role to assist with patient care activities and documentation. This position interfaces with nurses, coordinators, and other departments to maintain smooth unit operations.

Responsibilities include accurate data collection, assisting with daily living activities, and timely communication of patient status. Requires BLS CPR and willingness to learn EMR systems in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn and apply computer-related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices.
• Familiarity with confidential information handling per healthcare regulations.
• Strong communication skills with diverse groups.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records pain rating, weight, height, intake and output, and finger stick blood glucose.
• Assists patients with ADLs, including passing meals, nourishments, and fresh water at bedside.
• Participates in hourly rounding and answers call lights promptly.
• Reports changes in vital signs and patient status to appropriate staff.
• Maintains a clean, organized environment and helps with inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Follows directions of registered nurses, clinical coordinators, and managers.
• Delivers and picks up items from other departments and interacts with all ancillary departments.
• Performs accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
