Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a patient-focused Environmental Services/Patient Care Support role at Rhode Island Hospital. The position assists nurses by maintaining a clean, safe patient environment, stocking supplies, transporting items, and preparing equipment for procedures.

Evening shifts support critical care areas with an emphasis on safety and infection control. Responsibilities include cleaning equipment, setting up rooms, delivering supplies, and responding to patient requests

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Reads, writes, and speaks English.
• BLS Certification required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and deliver moderately heavy supplies.
• Ability to respond to emergency/code situations.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain equipment and areas used for patient care.
• Wet and clean bedside stands, furniture, sinks, and IV poles as directed.
• Keep unit neat; stock patient rooms and carts with supplies.
• Disposal of linen and delivery of supplies and equipment to and from the facility.
• Check and set up medical equipment and oxygen/suction setups.
• Deliver supplies and equipment to patient rooms and to Facility Management.
• Respond to patient call lights and assist nursing staff.
