Job summary

Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join the Emergency Department team. This full-time role is 36 hours per week with 3–12 hour shifts, weekend and holiday coverage, no overnight shifts.

The NP will assess and manage diverse patient populations, perform histories and exams, order tests, develop care plans, and document care thoroughly. The position includes ED follow-up in outpatient or urgent care settings.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
• ARPN license eligibility in MA required/eligible.
• 0–1 year NP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, counseling, and education across ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and procedural settings.
• Perform complete histories and physical examinations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develop appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on findings.
• Document admissions, progress notes, procedure notes, and discharge summaries.
• Order medications and write prescriptions per policies.
