Job summary

UF ECE Ambassadors seeks a Veterinary Assistant for a full-time 40-hour week to maintain the Gator Standard of care in ICU, ER and Progressive Care wards. You will perform infection control, hands-on patient care, and assist DVMs with triage, restraint, intake and documentation.

This CARE position offers limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off, with potential advancement to level II as certifications are achieved and eligibility for TEAMS salary plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs, bend, kneel, pull, push, twist and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Support infection control through cleaning of all areas and equipment, sterilization, and stocking
• Provide hands-on patient care (feeding, walking, grooming)
• Assist DVMs and technicians with triage, restraint, intake, and documentation
