Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician (Full-Time) for the Upper East Side, NYC. You will join a fast-paced team delivering gold-standard emergency care to a wide range of patients, from minor to critical cases, with opportunities for learning and mentorship.

You’ll handle triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing while supporting pet parents in their most stressful moments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA-accredited program preferred
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician in-state required; VTS a plus
• 1+ year experience in veterinary technician role; emergency experience preferred
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity
• Strong communication and composure under pressure
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care from triage to discharge in emergencies
• Assist with treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing
• Manage medications, IVs, CRIs, and transfusions as needed
• Communicate clearly with team and contribute to care plans
• Perform advanced procedures and use diagnostic tools and equipment
• Support pet parents with empathy during stressful moments
• Work in a fast-paced environment as part of a collaborative VEG team
