Job summary

Lee County Government invites applications for Emergency Communications Specialist, Trainees. You will answer 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls, gather critical information, and coordinate dispatch for Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement with comprehensive training funded by the department.

You’ll work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment, advancing through required certifications including Emergency Medical Dispatch, Fire Dispatch, Police Dispatch, CPR, and CJIS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in telecommunications or high-volume, high-stress customer service preferred.
• Typing speed of 40 wpm preferred.
• Experience in dispatch, alarm monitoring, or public safety is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls and gather critical information.
• Provide pre-arrival and post-dispatch instructions and enter events into CAD.
• Train to dispatch Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement resources.
• Coordinate mutual aid and maintain responder situational awareness.
