Job summary

The City of Hayward is hiring a Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor to lead a 24/7 emergency communications center. This hands-on role includes supervising staff, coordinating shift operations, and ensuring rapid, accurate dispatch of police, fire, and related services.

Ideal candidates bring strong leadership, sound judgment, and experience in training, performance evaluation, and policy development within public safety communications.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of responsible emergency dispatching experience.
• Completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency calls, determine nature and priority, dispatch units.
• Use CAD to log calls and monitor real-time status.
• Supervise daily shift operations and coordinate staffing.
