Job summary

Broward College is seeking a Public Safety Dispatcher to support campus operations. The role involves handling emergency and non-emergency calls, monitoring alarms and CCTV, and dispatching personnel using CAD and radio systems.

Successful candidates will maintain logs, work a fluctuating schedule including evenings and weekends, and may be required to work overtime during severe weather events. Certification training is provided within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three+ years of customer service or dispatch experience.
• Experience monitoring alarms and CCTV systems preferred.
• CPR with AED certification preferred.
• IS-100, IS-700, IS-800.d, IS-907 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine nature and priority of telephone requests and dispatch personnel.
• Input and retrieve information from Public Safety databases and monitor communications.
• Maintain data in dispatch and records systems.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty and emergency personnel.
• Monitor CCTV videos.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
