Job summary

Augusta University Police Department is seeking a skilled dispatcher to receive emergency and non-emergency requests, determine urgency, initiate appropriate action, and maintain close contact with responders to monitor needs.

Responsibilities include entering and retrieving data in the CAD system, NCIC/GCIC, Banner, and other programs; enforcing policies; securing areas; and supporting officers as incidents evolve. A high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accredited organization.
• Ability to receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls promptly.
• Knowledge of proper policies and procedures for handling calls.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from officers, agencies, the public, and AU entities.
• Enter, view, and retrieve information from CAD, NCIC/GCIC, Banner and other systems.
• Follow policies when handling calls and secure areas when required.
• Check areas for unsecured buildings and verify identification before admitting personnel.
• Perform related duties incidental to the work.
