Job summary

The City of Loveland is seeking a Public Relations and Media Specialist to lead media relations and public information for City departments. The role acts as the primary media contact and City spokesperson, coordinating with departments and handling inquiries.

It also serves as the PIO during emergencies, developing timely messaging and coordinating with leadership. Required is a 4-year degree in communications or related field and at least 6 years in media relations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the City’s primary media relations contact and spokesperson.
• Lead emergency communication as the Public Information Officer (PIO) during incidents.
• Develop and distribute press materials and coordinate interviews with news outlets.
• Provide media training and resources to City leadership and staff.
• Monitor news and public sentiment; report to Communications leadership.
