The City of Albuquerque seeks an experienced spokesperson to disseminate information to media and the public for the City’s department. You will write press releases, coordinate media events, and manage public communications across channels.

This at-will role requires collaboration with internal divisions to promote City objectives, respond to inquiries, and maintain up-to-date publications and media lists. A bachelor’s degree and relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field.
• 3 years marketing or communications experience.
• 1 year supervisory experience.

Responsabilités

• Respond to and work directly with the media on inquiries; serve as department spokesperson.
• Coordinate the distribution of news releases, articles, brochures, and packets across formats.
• Develop and coordinate programs to promote departmental services using videography, photography, and social media.
• Schedule speaking engagements, media interviews, and public events to convey information.
• Write and edit speeches, press releases, brochures, newsletters and meeting materials.
