Job summary

The City of Naples is seeking a 911 dispatcher to receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and to dispatch law enforcement and fire personnel via radio and CAD systems. Requires data entry skills, strong customer service, and the ability to work varied shifts in a high-stress environment.

Standard duties include monitoring multiple information systems, providing pre-arrival medical instructions when certified, running background checks, and maintaining detailed logs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with data entry and customer service exposure.
• Satisfactory completion of required training and certifications for PST.
• Ability to operate multiple communications systems and software.

Responsibilities

• Receives 911 and non-emergency calls, obtains info, dispatches units, and logs details.
• Monitors telecommunication consoles, CAD, GIS, and NCIC/FCIC data for accuracy.
• Provides pre-arrival instructions when certified; coordinates with agencies.
• Maintains logs and retrieves information from databases as needed.
• Supports emergency operations with attention to officer safety.
