Entry-level position with mandatory training and drug screening. Starting salary is $36,420.80 annually, with increases after training and licensing within the first year. Work is shift-based, with potential overtime and 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pass skill assessment.
• Familiarity with Windows-based computer systems.
• Able to operate a multi-line phone system.
• Able to multi-task and stay calm in stressful situations.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Typing speed 33 wpm (tested).

Responsibilities

• Use CAD systems to prepare, maintain, and submit dispatch records and documentation.
• Monitor radio traffic and dispatch police, fire, and non-emergency responders to calls.
• Maintain communication with field units and monitor safety of personnel.
• Relay call information to responders.
• Conduct license, vehicle, criminal background, warrant checks; process wrecker requests.
• Operate various telecommunications equipment and systems (TCIC/ACIC/NCIC/RMS/CAD).
• Input and verify information in TCIC/ACIC/NCIC databases.
• Attend training to enhance safety communications knowledge and skills.
