Job summary

City of Redmond is seeking Public Safety Telecommunicators to deliver timely emergency communications for Redmond Police and contract agencies.

You will answer calls, enter data into CAD, dispatch police units, and coordinate radio responses while maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.

This role requires sharp listening, fast typing, 24/7 shift availability, and excellent English communication to support the safety of our community.

Qualifications

• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls and enter information into CAD.
• Provide calm, clear, and accurate instructions to callers.
• Prioritize and coordinate police dispatch and radio responses.
• Maintain composure and professional demeanor in stressful situations.
• Work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Communicate effectively in English, with strong listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and non-emergency lines and enter CAD data.
• Calmly advise callers and obtain essential information.
• Dispatch police units via trunked radio system.
• Update information and monitor status of calls.
• Manage multiple calls simultaneously and prioritize actions.
