Job summary

Oklahoma Municipal League, Inc. is seeking a Public Safety Telecommunicator in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Under general supervision, you will receive emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate emergency personnel, including police, fire, EMS, and animal control as needed.

This safety-sensitive position is subject to random drug testing. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and APCO certifications, CPR/EMD training, and knowledge of incident management and CAD systems.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by related experience.
• APCO Basic Telecommunicator Certification, APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification, EMD, EFD, CPR, OLETS and FEMA NIMS training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers emergency and non-emergency calls and transfers to appropriate units.
• Dispatches police, fire, EMS, and animal control personnel as needed.
• Monitors alarms and video, enters reports and NCIC/State reporting data.
• Provides medical instructions within dispatch guidelines and scene safety information.
