Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year of telecommunications experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of 9-1-1 concepts and related equipment and functions.
• Familiarity with federal, state, local, and county communications laws and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate emergency telecommunications networks to receive and relay information for emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Refer fire and EMS calls via CAD or radio/telephone communication.
• Maintain calm and focus while updating dispatch information during incidents.
• Coordinate and control communications during multiple critical events.
• Obtain and relay information to patrol officers using CAD/NCIC/TCIC and maintain relevant databases.
• Follow FCC rules and department policies in all communications.
