Within the Emergency Department, the Emergency Charge Nurse will coordinate daily nursing operations across a fast-moving ER and acute care setting. Responsibilities include guiding patient flow, aligning assignments with clinical acuity, supporting frontline staff, and maintaining evidence-based patient care for a diverse population. Close collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams creates an environment where critical thinking and rapid decisions directly influence outcomes. This charge RN will balance hands-on clinical leadership with operational oversight, staffing support, quality improvement, and workflow management. Day and night shift opportunities are available on a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, with weekend and night shift differentials.

Working within the established nursing leadership structure, the Emergency Department Charge Nurse will serve as a key connection among executive leaders, nursing colleagues, physicians, and ancillary departments. The role carries ownership for shift operations, staff coaching, escalation management, care coordination, and consistent clinical standards. Beyond managing the immediate needs of the Emergency Room, this leader will help advance organizational goals through staff development and strategic operational influence. Bilingual English and Spanish skills are valued and can strengthen communication with patients and families.
