Job summary

Tufts Medicine seeks a nursing support professional to assist in the Emergency Department. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide patient-centered care, coordinate patient flow, and support family-centered care.

Duties include specimen collection, basic procedures, and equipment setup, with emphasis on safety and high-quality communication. The role requires a high school diploma, BLS, and phlebotomy training within 3 months, with CNAs or MAs and EMTs preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Phlebotomy competency training within 3 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional RN with patient care and safety.
• Greet patients and coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Collect specimens and perform basic lab prep under supervision.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; ensure infection control standards.
• Document patient data and communicate findings to the nurse.
