Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care using the nursing process. The role collaborates with physicians and the care team to ensure quality outcomes within established protocols and compassionate families settings.

The RN administers medications, conducts assessments, educates patients, and participates in life-saving procedures when needed, while maintaining infection control and safety standards across the unit.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience or student clinical rotations in acute care.
• Foundational knowledge of nursing process and patient care planning.
• Competence in medication administration and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care per policy and nursing process.
• Assess patients, document findings, and report condition changes promptly.
• Provide age-appropriate care and education across the patient population.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency scope.
• Develop and evaluate individualized care plans with the care team.
• Respond to emergencies, perform CPR and participate in code team activities.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Maintain infection control practices and safe environments.
• Document care thoroughly and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
