Job summary

Mass General Brigham Incorporated is seeking an Emergency Services Assistant for the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. The 36-hour day shift involves assisting patients with daily living activities, vital signs, and charting in the EHR.

You will help with admissions/discharges, transport, and daily tasks under licensed staff supervision. The role requires CNA/EMT certification or equivalent experience, strong customer service, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certification as CNA, PCT, MA, EMT or commensurate experience required.
• Nursing student with clinical experience may qualify for PCA roles.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care-related duties and clinical functions, including vital signs, EKGs, and basic nursing tasks.
• Documents height, weight, intake/output, and vitals in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Assists with meals, feeding, and assisting patients as needed.
• Ensures patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned; reports equipment issues.
• Assists with admitting and discharging patients; supports orientation of new ESA team members.
• Interacts effectively with patients, visitors, and care team; communicates with nursing staff.
• Fosters a collaborative, positive team environment to support patient care.
