Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Public Safety Dispatcher to join our Denver-based team. You will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire, and EMS, collect vital details, and quickly determine priority while guiding dispatch actions.

The role requires calm, professional communication and strict confidentiality. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of public contact experience, and 1 year of Windows-based computer use.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/HiSET/TASC required.
• 2 years public contact experience handling problems and guiding policies.
• 1 year computer experience in Windows or similar OS.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire, and EMS with professionalism and empathy.
• Collect, assess, and document information into the CAD system quickly and accurately.
• Determine call priority and initiate appropriate protocols and dispatch, including EMD when needed.
• Provide lifesaving instructions and emergency triage guidance over the phone when needed.
• Handle high volume of calls in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Navigate CAD, telephone, and mapping systems to support call handling.
• Exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making under pressure.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow departmental policies and performance standards.
