Job summary

Kowalski Construction, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a Hazardous Materials & Board-Up Technician. This full-time role secures properties, installs board-ups, and supports hazardous materials response during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Secure residential and commercial properties by installing board-ups on windows, doors and openings.
• Install temporary fencing and protective barriers as needed.
• Respond to hazardous material incidents and environmental cleanup situations.
• Identify, contain, and assist with remediation of hazardous substances and environmental hazards.
• Perform decontamination procedures following safety protocols.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
• Inspect and maintain PPE; complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and emergency partners.
• Participate in ongoing safety training and emergency response exercises.
• Maintain company vehicles and tools in safe condition.
