Job summary

Allegheny County DHS seeks an Emergency Behavioral Health Disaster Response Coordinator to support EBH and disaster response operations. The role coordinates staff, partners, and community resources, ensuring effective communication and client-centered assistance during emergencies.

The position requires collaboration with DHS leadership, adherence to ICS protocols, and the ability to organize trainings, maintain logs, and provide critical crisis support across multiple channels.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/equivalent; experience in social or case work, outreach, trauma-informed care is a plus.
• Knowledge of behavioral/mental health and de-escalation techniques is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize and recruit EBH Team members across DHS staff, providers, and partners.
• Host quarterly EBH Team meetings and support emergency/disaster trainings.
• Coordinate crisis support in person, by phone, text, and email during disasters.
• Respond to disasters activated by Red Cross, local authorities, or DHS leadership.
• Maintain disaster response logs and reports; support planning and inter-agency coordination.
