Airlift Northwest, the UW Medicine critical care transport service, has an outstanding opportunity for a Medical Airlift Communications Supervisor in Seattle. The role supervises a team of communications specialists coordinating air/ground transport for emergency medical care, ensuring timely triage of local and interstate flights, and supporting regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree and three years in management/supervision in health care.
• In lieu of a degree, six years of management/supervision in health care.
• Experience in Communications Operations Center, Air Traffic Control Center, or Emergency Dispatch.
• Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager with budgets (staffing, equipment and training needs), scheduling and payroll.
• Contribute to development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures for the Communications Center.
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of patient registrations, hospital admissions, and discharges; manage telephone interactions.
• Investigate complaints and initiate corrective action; monitor regulatory compliance for HIPAA and payers.
• Support QA/QI activities and participate in committees; cover staff shortages as needed.
