Job summary

EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a part-time EMCS Certified Operator in Germantown, MD. This role is covered by the CBA for Local 99, with a schedule Monday–Friday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

The operator will install, service and repair environment-control systems, operate the EMCS and related equipment, take readings, and coordinate all DOE information data requests as required. A Top Secret-equivalent clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Five or more years operating electrical, HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including HVAC operation and maintenance practices.
• Be able to communicate with customers and co-workers and handle pressure at times.
• Certification from an accredited institution or 5+ years of equivalent work experience.
• Operated Siemens systems and/or JCI.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and repair environment-control systems in commercial buildings, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout.
• Operate the Energy Management Control System and Power Control Console with DDC, VFD, UPS, PDU and MCC components.
• Take readings and adjust control systems and components during the watch.
• Administer EMCS system, issue passwords, complete certification and accreditation reporting, and coordinate data requests.
