Job summary

TUV SUD America, Inc in New Brighton, MN is seeking an EMC/RF Engineer to perform emission and immunity testing in a laboratory environment, review test plans, and prepare reports for certification. You will stay current with standards and maintain testing equipment knowledge while providing technical recommendations.

Travel to client sites may be required up to 5%. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 months of lab experience are required, along with strong RF/Wi‑Fi

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in an electronics lab (minimum 3 months).
  • Demonstrated experience with wireless/RF systems and protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, 4G, mmW).
  • Proficiency with electronics test equipment and automation software.
  • Strong communication with internal/external customers about standards and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform emission and immunity testing per domestic and international standards in a laboratory setting.
  • Review test plans and specifications; prepare and review reports; provide feedback to improve quality.
  • Maintain knowledge of test equipment procedures and stay updated with industry standards.

Job description

EMC / RF Engineer (TUV SUD America, Inc, New Brighton MN):

Perform emission and immunity testing per requirements detailed in domestic and international regulatory wireless/EMC standards and test procedures in a laboratory environment, including review of test plans and specifications prior to test; Prepare and review test reports and provide constructive feedback to other personnel to increase the overall quality of the final product; Keep abreast of the latest design theory, including detailed theoretical knowledge in relevant technical areas; Maintain knowledge of proper operational procedures of all relevant test equipment; and Stay up to date with current product standards, test procedures, instrumentation, and technology by participating in internal training sessions, attending external seminars, and reading technical articles; Provide support to customers regarding the application of standards, test procedures, and certification requirements. May require up to 5% local travel to client sites.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field, PLUS 3 months experience working in an electronics laboratory.

Must have:

Demonstrated experience with wireless/RF communication systems and protocols for existing and emerging technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, 4G, mmW, and other license-exempt and licensed devices; Demonstrated expert knowledge in the use of relevant electronics testing equipment and automation software; Demonstrated excellent knowledge of and proficiency in the use of MS Office applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Demonstrated experience communicating in a courteous and effective manner with internal and external customers in all circumstances, including answering questions, relaying messages, and providing information regarding standards, test procedures, and technical recommendations for compliance and certification requirements. (Unless otherwise indicated, employer is seeking the ability in the skills listed above with no specific number of years of experience required. All experience can be gained concurrently.)

Salary:

$79,123 to $85,000 / Year.
