Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, seeks a Faculty - Embryology Lab Director to lead the ART laboratory, ensuring quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the academic mission. You will supervise embryologists, oversee daily operations, and ensure valid testing methods, while collaborating with clinical staff and researchers across Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution.
• Hold an earned doctoral degree; and
• Be certified and continue to be certified by a board approved by HHS.
• 2 years’ experience in laboratory training or experience, or both.
• 2 years in laboratory experience directing or supervising high complexity testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall operational, administrative, technical, and scientific leadership for the ART laboratory.
• Oversee daily laboratory operations and testing as needed to support patient care and operational needs.
• Coordinate and participate in regulatory and accreditation inspections and self-assessments; review findings and ensure corrective actions.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate laboratory personnel; ensure staff maintain competency and licensure.
• Support education and research activities related to REI and participate in educational programs.
