Job summary

Workwear Outfitters, a Nashville-based leader in work apparel and footwear, is seeking a production sewist for the 2nd shift to assemble, hoop, and finish garments.

You will operate sewing machines, load designs via computer, and ensure quality with attention to detail. Overtime including weekends and good attendance are expected; we offer strong benefits and a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Sewing/embroidery experience helpful but not required.
• Basic English and math skills.
• Ability to stand and walk up to 100% of the shift.
• Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Vision includes close, distance, color, peripheral vision.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and quality.
• Flexibility and ability to work with others.
• Overtime and weekend availability.
• Good attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Check in garments when they arrive.
• Load design onto the machine via computer.
• Hoop garment and prep for the next run.
• Operate machines while trimming the backing.
• Learn to adjust tensions for sewing quality.
• Fix errors on items as needed.
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and clean work area.
• Show pride in Workwear Outfitters at all times.

REQUIREMENTS

• Sewing / embroidery experience is helpful but not required.
• Basic communication skills to include reading, speaking, and understanding English and basic math skills.
• The physical ability to stand and walk up to 100% of the work shift.
• The physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Specific vision abilities required of the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• This position requires a high attention to detail and quality.
• This position requires demonstrated flexibility and the ability to work with others in a positive manner.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Must follow directions well.
• Ability to work overtime - including work on weekends, when needed.
• Good attendance is a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Check in garments when they arrive.

• Hoop garment or item while machine is running prepping for the next run
• Operate machines while trimming the backing
• Learn how to adjust tensions for better sewing quality
• Fix errors if needed on items
• Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task is a must for this job.
• Maintains a safe, efficient, and clean work environment that shows pride in Workwear, and is worthy of sharing with visitors at all times.

HOURS: 2nd shift hours: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. OT may be required daily and on Saturday
