Job summary

Meta is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize firmware for AR/VR wearables and related devices. You will work across kernel to application layers, building drivers and services for high-throughput wireless connectivity and sensing systems.

You will lead hardware bring up, optimize power and performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated software across multiple platforms, including Android and Linux-based systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/CE or related field.
• 7+ years software development experience or PhD with 4+ years.
• 3+ years embedded software development experience.
• Experience in large-scale C/C++ code bases.
• Experience defining and driving technical work streams and providing technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software components at all layers of the system, including kernel and memory management.
• Develop drivers and services for constrained environments with high data throughput.
• Lead hardware bring up, peripheral drivers, silicon integration, and power/performance optimization.
• Debug complex system-level issues spanning kernel to application layers.
• Profile performance and optimize across the software stack.
• Integrate components from multiple partner teams into a unified code base.
• Analyze and debug firmware for sensing and imaging devices, haptic systems, and audio prototypes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to add features in connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular, UWB).
• Support QA, manufacturing, and other software teams.
