Meta in San Diego seeks an Embedded Software Engineer focused on connectivity for AR/VR devices. You will design, implement, and optimize firmware and drivers across kernel to application, integrating Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and other wireless stacks while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

You will lead hardware bring-up, debug system-wide issues, and work on power management, profiling, and performance improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.
7+ years of software development experience; PhD with 4+ years acceptable.
3+ years embedded software development experience.
Experience in large-scale C/C++ code bases.
Experience defining and leading software engineering work streams.

Responsibilities

Design and implement components across kernel to application layers.
Develop drivers and services for constrained environments with high data throughput.
Lead hardware bring up, peripheral drivers, silicon integration and power management.
Debug system-wide issues spanning multiple layers from kernel to app.
Profile and optimize performance across the software stack.
Integrate components from partner teams into a unified code base.
Develop firmware for devices with sensing, imaging, and haptic features.
Collaborate to create new wireless features and ensure QA/support alignment.
Enhance systems with wireless interfaces and support cross-functional teams.
