Job summary

PACCAR is hiring a Software Release Engineer in Lewisville, TX to manage embedded software deliverables and coordinate with stakeholders for vehicle software launches in manufacturing plants and field operations.

The role focuses on releasing software packages, documenting changes, and ensuring compatibility with PACCAR tools and backoffice systems, with collaboration across electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
5+ years of experience designing and/or releasing automotive or commercial vehicle system software, electronic controls, switches, driver input devices, and/or HMI.
Proficiency in MATLAB, C++, and/or C#.
Awareness of heavy‑duty truck regulations affecting instrumentation, emissions, safety, and OBD.
Understanding of truck design and software-driven functionality.
Knowledge of J1939, UDS, and Automotive Ethernet as it pertains to programming/diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Release vehicle system software packages and parameter solutions for commercial trucks.
Document changes to software calibrations and parameters.
Create engineering change notices for production deployments.
